Lauren Mavrinac and James Singleton's relationship started as a friendship while they both attended the University of Oklahoma. After four years of dating, they knew that New Orleans – a place known for fun that both of their families love and have in common – would be the perfect place for their nuptials. "The church was a really big deal for me," explains Lauren. "My family has so many connections to Our Lady of the Lake, so we centered everything around the church."
The couple wanted to keep their wedding party intimate, but Lauren knew she wanted a "squad" of flower girls by her side. Her three nieces and James' cousin were thrilled to be included and took their duties very seriously, including putting in a request to wear high heels. "It was hysterical because even I wasn't thrilled about wearing heels, but we found some little ones for them to walk down the aisle in." The reception took place at Maison Lafitte, a sophisticated venue with ample indoor and outdoor space, and was filled with special details. The Cocoa Bean Bakery created a classic 4-tier cake featuring the couples' new monogram, and the "just married" sign for the getaway car was made by local artist Rachael Lagarde Walker. They made sure to include as much of Louisiana into the wedding as they could. From the welcome bags filled with local finds to events being held all along the scenic lakefront, the Mandeville wedding weekend was picture perfect.
