Fall Tastemaker: Arianne Bellizaire
When kicking off our Tastemaker series again this year we were inspired by one of our hometown friends and designers, Arianne Bellizaire. We have long admired her dedication to being an expert on construction materials and the design process. We were thrilled to be able to visit her home recently and photograph her styling our fall collection.
Arianne is a Baton Rouge based media personality and the CEO behind her full-service design firm, Arianne Bellizaire Interiors. After working in the communications industry for ten years, Arianne began to explore interior decorating and completed an interior design certification program, read hundreds of design books and attended workshops, trainings and conferences. Her work has since been published in many notable publications including Architectural Digest, Forbes and InRegister.
Arianne wants people to know that “even a little girl who came from humble beginnings with no knowledge or understanding of this thing called interior design could eventually realize that this could become her passion in life. All it took was being exposed to people, places and things outside of the bubble she grew up in.”
What is your favorite room in your house? Where do you go for a moment of quiet and calm?
My favorite room in my house is actually my bedroom. I love the calming color I've wrapped the room in, and the loveseat in the corner of the room is the perfect place for me to take a nap or lounge and read a good book! This is where I go to get a few moments to myself!
With an eye for interiors and an arsenal of decorative objects in your home, what is your advice for decorating when hosting family and/or friends this fall?
Actually, my advice would be to keep it simple. Add a few meaningful, fall-themed elements to your everyday vignettes to visually celebrate the change in season without overdoing it! This also leaves plenty of table and counter space to lay out your food, drink and dessert spreads!
Do you have any entertaining secrets or specialties?
My biggest entertaining secret is to plan activity zones. This is especially important in an open-concept home. You can plan activities around the pool for the kids, have a tv with chairs set up for the guys to watch the game, and have comfortable conversation areas in the living room for the girls who want to catch up and chat!
What is your go-to hostess gift?
My go-to hostess gift is a candle. I love how smells can transform a space, and I love gifting family members and friends with my favorite scents!
What are some of your favorite Fig & Dove items and how would you style them?
Speaking of candles, the Fig & Dove Winter White candle is one of my favorites. The scent is so welcoming and nostalgic. I'm also REALLY loving the glass pumpkins and remote-controlled candles!!!
