The Fig Old-Fashioned - Fig & Dove Cocktail
2 oz. bourbon
1/2 oz. spiced orange fig syrup (recipe below)

Orange peel
Rosemary sprig
- Add ice to a rocks glass and sprinkle a few drops of bitters over top
- Pour 1/2 oz. spiced orange fig syrup, then add 2 oz. bourbon and stir well
- Run an orange peel around the rim of the glass and add a fresh rosemary sprig
Spiced Orange Fig Syrup
2-3 large oranges
1 package dried figs
A few pinches each: clove, nutmeg, and allspire
1 cup sugar or honey
- Zest oranges and place shavings in a mason jar
- In a blender, add 12-15 dried figs and cover with water, then blend until smooth
- Add fig puree to mason jar and cover with 1 cup sugar or honey
- Fill the remainder of the jar with boiling water and stir thoroughly
- Cover the jar with the lid and let it cool, stirring occasionally
- Let it steep for 1 week in the refrigerator, then strain the liquid into another mason jar for storage
Can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. Yields 8-10 cocktails.
